AI Editor for Premiere Pro
Most AI video tools try to replace editors. That is why they suck. This is different, an AI assistant that thinks like an editor, keeping you in control while cutting your prep time from hours to seconds.
The multicam update
Version 1.3 takes AI Editor off Video Track 1. It now works on stacked camera angles, builds your prompt for you, and can strip filler and dead air from every angle at once. Free for everyone who already owns it.
The Problem
If you edit podcasts, interviews, or long-form content, you know the pain. You have got a 40-minute timeline. You need a 30-second hook that actually converts. So you scrub. You listen. You scrub again. You spend 45 minutes just finding the good parts before you even start editing.
The Solution
AI Editor is not an auto-editor. It is an AI assistant that thinks like an editor. It transcribes your content, identifies the strongest hooks and one-liners based on your chosen mode, then literally lifts the best clips to higher tracks ranked by confidence. You keep creative control, just with a 95% head start.
How It Works
Transcribe
Hit transcribe. It generates a full, word-level transcript you can export as SRT or TXT for captions. Transcribe with OpenAI, Groq, or ElevenLabs, in more languages than Premiere Pro supports natively, including Polish and Norwegian.
Build the Prompt
No prompt engineering. Pick four blocks (usage, how many selects, content or emotion, quote length) and the plugin writes the instruction for you. Start from a quick start, describe your footage, or write a custom prompt instead. Save any setup as a preset and reuse it in every project.
Edit
Boom. Your selects are lifted above the timeline and stacked by confidence: gold on top, probably good below it, potentially usable under that. You make the final call, but instead of scrubbing for an hour, you choose from pre-stacked options in 30 seconds.
Ranked by Confidence
The AI does not just find clips, it ranks them. Selects are lifted above your topmost occupied video track, one level per confidence rating, so the best options sit at the top of the stack.
Level 3 — Gold
Highest confidence, safest choices
Level 2 — Probably Good
Strong candidates worth reviewing
Level 1 — Potentially Usable
Context-dependent, your call
Single camera on V1? Your selects land on V2, V3 and V4. Three angles stacked on V1 to V3? Only V3 is cut and your selects land on V4, V5 and V6. Nothing below is touched, and nothing is deleted.
Level 3 — Gold tier clips
Level 2 — Good candidates
Level 1 — Potentially usable
Your camera angles, untouched
Key Features
AI Clip Ranking
Intelligently identifies and lifts the best clips to higher tracks, ranked by confidence level from 1 to 3.
Multicam Ready
Stacked camera angles are handled properly. Only your topmost occupied video track is cut and promoted, the angles below stay untouched, and missing tracks are created for you.
Prompt Builder, Not Prompt Writing
Answer four questions (usage, volume, focus, quote length) and the instruction writes itself. Five quick starts included, or write a custom prompt if you prefer.
Cut Filler and Dead Air
Optionally flag pauses, silences, false starts, and um or uh. They get cut on every video track and left selected, so one Shift+Delete ripples them out across all angles.
Presets That Travel
Save a setup that works and load it in any project. Presets live on your machine, not in the project file, and survive plugin updates.
Choose Your AI Provider
Transcribe with OpenAI Whisper, Groq, or ElevenLabs Scribe. Generate edits with GPT-5.6, Claude Opus 5, or Gemini 3.1 Pro, down to the cheap Flash and Lite tiers. Mix and match for speed, quality, or cost.
Multi-Language Support
Works in any language the AI understands. Tested with English, Polish, and Norwegian, with many more supported.
Bring Your Own API Key
Use your own keys, encrypted and stored locally on your machine. Pay only for the tokens you actually use. No hidden fees, no credit burning.
Timeline Markers
Every selected range gets a sequence marker with an AI summary and confidence rating, so you can jump straight to your best moments.
No Subscription Traps
Most AI plugins want $50/month forever. Stop using it for three months? You are still paying. And they burn through credits you do not control. We do things differently.
| Feature | AI Editor | Others |
|---|---|---|
| Purchase | One-time $69 | $50/month subscription |
| Usage | Pay per use via your API key | Credits that expire |
| Example Cost | ~$0.25 for 30-min timeline | $600/year locked in |
| Cancellation | Yours forever | Lose access immediately |
Real cost example
A 30-minute timeline cost $0.25 to process. You pay only for what you use.
~$0.25
per 30-min session
Works in Any Language
We have tested it with English, Polish, and Norwegian. If the AI understands the language, it does its job.
Supports more languages natively than Premiere Pro itself.
Honest About Accuracy
Is the timing always frame-perfect? Honestly? Sometimes it is off by a word.
But it is close. Way closer than doing it manually, and it gets you 95% there instantly.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does AI Editor help with editing?
AI Editor transcribes your timeline, then uses your chosen AI to find the strongest hooks and one-liners and lift those clips to higher tracks ranked by confidence, with a marker on each. You keep full creative control and save hours of scrubbing.
Do I need an internet connection?
Yes. AI Editor sends audio and transcripts to the AI provider you choose, so an internet connection is required for transcription and edit generation.
Is my footage secure?
Your API keys are encrypted and stored locally on your machine and are never written to your project files. Audio and transcripts are sent only to the AI provider you pick, over encrypted connections, and are subject to that provider data policy.
Does it work with multicam and multi-track timelines?
Yes. AI Editor cuts and promotes your topmost occupied video track and leaves the angles below it untouched, so stacked camera angles stay in sync. Missing destination tracks are created for you.
Can it cut out filler words and dead air?
Yes. Turn on pause detection and the AI also flags long pauses, dead air, false starts, and thinking sounds like um and uh. Those ranges are cut on every video track and left selected, so Shift+Delete ripple-deletes them across all your angles at once.
Do my In and Out points have to start at the beginning of the sequence?
No. Set In and Out anywhere on the timeline and the transcript is mapped back to sequence time automatically. Leave them unset to process the whole sequence.
Stop Scrubbing. Start Creating.
If you want to speed up your workflow without giving up creative control, if you are tired of AI trying to replace you and you want an AI that actually assists you, this is for you.
